“I’d never held a job before, but I wanted to and needed to,” says Dollie matter-of-factly.   Dollie was an unemployed, single mother of three.  But she wasn’t simply a statistic on the welfare rolls; she was a person with a desire to work and do well for her family.  She had what seemed then an impossible dream – to have a home for her grandchildren.  Goodwill helped Dollie fulfill the desires of her heart.  And all of us have profited from the result.

With Goodwill’s help, Dollie has taken her natural talents as mother and grandmother to become a supervisor, overseeing a crew that grades the clothing donated to Goodwill.  Says Dollie in her simple, straightforward way, “It’s good to help those just coming in to find there is something in this life they were meant to do.”

You give more than you know when you give to Goodwill.  So we hope you don’t mind if we ask you to give one thing more.  Please take the time to give a word of encouragement to Dollie.  It means a lot to her and to us knowing there are others who share the spirit of Goodwill.  Email your encouragement, inquiries, suggestions or comments to:
